Helper Mod Application—

CLOSED

§ what i need.

We need 1-2 helper mods to help the current team out! The app will remain open until slots are filled, but before the end of March would be ideal as we have the upcoming campaign to work on and would prefer to have new hands settled before then.

At the moment we're more interested in helper mods to help us develop ideas and maintain certain parts of the game. Most of the load is all the writing we have to do, and it's spread out over several different areas of the game. Even having one person taking care of one part will help us out a lot! We are not looking for anyone to fill any main mod positions at this time.

We would prefer if only players who have been in the game for at least 4 months (or roughly through one campaign and break cycle) and with an active presence in the game to apply. However, if you're someone I already know for a while then you can still apply regardless of when you joined. This restriction is only in place because we want to be sure whoever joins will be around for at least a good while.

Here are the areas we are most interested in. Note: we do assign different tasks to people so you do not have to be involved in every area (unless you really want to):

  • Story Prompt Writer. PROMPTS. MOST IMPORTANT PART. Prompt writing is the second most time consuming and exhaustive part of running any game, and although our gamewide logs are not as frequent as most games, they can still be daunting, especially for campaigns. Although you do not have to help in everything, prompt writers would focus on: campaign scenes and subquests, Test Drive, Intro and/or Event logs, and the Commission Board. This also means that prompt writers will be involved to some degree in campaign development, however they do not have to. If you can operate from having a general outline to bust out some ideas, that works. Prompt content can be easy, hard, simple, ridiculous—whatever could be fun.

  • Campaign Development. Help design the campaigns. What stories we should use, setting features, scene and subquest ideas. This will also double as generating ideas for other logs such as Intro and Event logs, Test Drive, and Commission Board, however less requirement to actually write the prompts. It should be noted that these two areas do overlap, however, and anyone here should be prepared to help write a few things if needed.

  • Maintenance. While the core mod team will take care of most of the list maintenance, there are a few areas that can be taken care of by helpers. One big area is helping with the upkeep of the Game Info and Library pages. After every campaign we need to update the pages to reflect the changes as well as to archive what has occurred. Having one or two people help in writing up the info or at least gathering the information so we can polish it will help reduce the writing load.

We do use Discord for our plotting and communication, and we will have a separate channel for helper mods to use that the main mods will also be part of.

§ apply now!

Here is the form!

Name: Who are you?
How do I know you? I'll be able to figure this out, but for formality records and such /waves hands (Plus some of you share handle names...)
Experience: Not required, but if you have any that's a big plus, especially if you're applying for general modhood.

Applying For: What "job" you're most interested in and why. If you already have ideas or suggestions, this is a good place to write them out.
Timezone: Timezone so I know what kind of schedule I'll be working with. (For anyone interested in the campaign or other brainstorm development, bear in mind we normally operate during late evenings, starting around 9-10pm cst)
Methods of Contact: Include all means and the top preferred.

Questions/Other: Any questions or anything else you'd like to offer.

And for the copy/pasta:

All applications are screened and will remain open until the slots fill.
